A major obstacle to developing sustainable rural wireless broadband infrastructure is providing reliable high-speed Internet access at a cost effective price point. In response to this requirement, TurboNet Solutions and its partners have created the "EdgeNet Hybrid Wireless Network", an innovative compendium of products, applications and software which allows access to the Internet in a cost-effective and reliable manner.

The EdgeNet Wireless concept is based on employing ‘next generation’ wireless technology, and seamlessly combining it with other advanced telecom and data handling/storage systems, into a fully integrated network, incorporating Internet access, backhaul, transport and distribution.

The cornerstone of the EdgeNet Wireless concept is the Edge Data System, an innovative data management and storage system designed to ‘localize’ data access and increase efficiency by reducing backhaul bandwidth and the need for expensive and vulnerable ‘centralized’ data centers. 

EdgeNet edge data systems come in several configurations including a trailer-mounted system for temporary/emergency deployments and containerized twenty and forty foot ‘Micro Data Centers’ for more permanent installations.   All systems have power redundancy and can be ‘mirrored’ by a centralize data center.
